The co-founders of Grassroots Business Nework, LLC (’GBN’), Lisa Torres (aka The Social Butterfly) and Tyrone Turner (aka The Keeper of the ARC of the Covenant) share a few tips on things to do to get the online conversations offline.
Some things touched on:
- Social networking sites
- Face-to-face networking events
- Virtual networking events
- Follow-up tools
- Video email and chat
- Building your list
Here is GBN co-founder, Lisa Torres, “The Social Butterfly” in action.
In this video, she discusses the following topics (among other things):
- Branding yourself online
- Is MySpace only for kids?
- Using a blog to promote your business
- Using video to humanize the web experience
“How to Network and Follow-up”
Tyrone Turner quickly explains the four pillars of networking: Get them to know you; get them to like you; get them to trust you; get them to have confidence in your competence.
Do unto others as you would have them done unto you.” If someone is sending you referrals or giving you business as a customer, you really need to be doing all in your power to help them. That help can be reciprocating their gesture. You don’t have to be their customer, but you should really keep your eyes and ears open, and make sure to open your mouth about them. That is only fair. If you don’t the gravy train may come to a screeching halt.

Hello, It is likely our entry could be off topic but anyways, I have gone browsing around your web site and it looks seriously great. It’s obvious that you know the subject and you are passionate about it. I’m creating a fresh weblog plus I’m striving to make it look great, and offer the best quality information. Having acquired much at this website and I anticipate more articles and will be coming back soon. Thanks.
Nice blog. I got a lot of effective information. I’ve been watching this technology for awhile. It’s intriguing how it keeps shifting, yet some of the core elements stay the same. Have you seen much change since Google made their latest acquisition in the domain?
Thank you, Pit.
Just thought i would comment and say neat theme, did you code it yourself? Looks great.
Yep, did it myself. Check out my site @ http://www.brandedblogs.com
